Good and Busy Day

I went on a school visit to Herriman High for lunch.  I spent the afternoon contacting locations that still do not have an AR.  I hope to hear from a volunteer at each location soon.  I cleared a pile of issues off my desk!  This afternoon was the Year Round Committee.

Here is a Deseret News article about the superintendent input meeting from last night.  I will not be able to attend until the one on Wednesday, October 6.  If anyone went to the one this evening, I'd like to hear your take on the comments made.

  1. Hello Jennifer, I didn't realize, until the Deseret News article, that you were the JEA President. Good for you! I did send an email to the author of the piece with my own strong opinions about Superintendent Newbold. I haven't heard anything in response. I would love to hear from you and catch up just a bit.

  2. Hi JoAnne,

So good to hear from you! Are you still in southern Utah? I am thoroughly enjoying the work of being JEA President. Since the District split, the JEA President job is only part time, so I am also teaching sixth grade part time. It is working quite well for me.

Feel free to e-mail me through this blog.

  3. Jennifer,

Yes, I'm living in Washington (St. George), and some days I really miss working with 6th graders. My three grandsons are in 8th, 7th, and 6th grades and I would have loved to have each of them in a class. On other days I'm glad to be out of the pressures of unneeded paperwork, unrealistic expectations, and difficult parents. It's the kids I miss.

I'm glad you are enjoying your job. I get to Salt Lake at least once a month and try to get together with Sara, Sheila, Rebecca, and whoever else we can round up. We are all in different situations now, but we catch up and always manage to laugh a lot.

Nice to 'read' from you (we didn't really talk). Jordan District certainly needs your sensibilities now; it's a rough time. Take care.
